Archbishop's Annual Appeal
The Archbishop's Annual Appeal is used to fund many of the Archdiocesan ministries offered to support the parishes and missions. I’d like to highlight two essential things that are funded by the appeal. The first is the Archdiocesan Tribunal. This is the office that helps with all of the legal details of marriage, particularly the annulment process. The appeal helps to fund this office so that it costs nothing to those who require its services. The second is the Vocations Office. This is the office that supports our seminarians or future priests. It costs roughly fifty thousand dollars to educate one seminarian each year. Currently, there are 62 seminarians being prepared for the priesthood in the Archdiocese. So, this appeal is essential for the formation of our future priests.
Though we have participated in the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal in years past, it has been together with St. Joseph. This year, we have been given the goal of raising $10,000. Anything that we raise above that will be returned to us tax free. The refund that we will receive will go toward the renovation of our parish hall together with the money raised from our festival in September. I would like to encourage each family to pledge $250 to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal. I know that seems like a large amount, but it would work out to just over $20 per month. That would ensure us a large refund that would not be subject to the Archdiocesan tax. Of course, if you are able to give more that would also be appreciated!
Any money that we receive from the refund will be used for the Parish Hall renovation.
You can make your pledge online by clicking here (Please indicate St. Toribio Romo as your parish) or at mass the first and second weekend of February.
